Buyers review

6061-T651 Aluminum plate is an excellent candidate for most processing techniques and both interior and exterior applications. Considered the most versatile of the heat treatable aluminum alloys, it offers a good corrosion resistance. This is a lightweight material with a semi-smooth surface and a dull mill finish.

6061 Aluminum Plate
6061 Aluminum Plate is made of one of the most versatile of all of the aluminum alloys. 6061 Aluminum Plate is the alloy of choice for all-purpose applications. 6061 Aluminum Plate is an aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy, strengthened by precipitation hardening. This alloy has medium strength, formability, weldability, machinability and corrosion resistance. 6061 Aluminum plate is used for tooling plate, architectural applications, transportation equipment, bridge railing components, and is useful in welded structural application. We stock 6061 Aluminum Plate in thickness .250'' through 16'' thick in stock available for immediate delivery.

Welding of 6061 Aluminum Alloy

Al-6061 alloy is easy to weld and connect by various methods. Usually welded with ER4043; For getting the best color matching, ER5356 is recommended.

The following table summarizes common similar metal welded joints made using inertial drive FRW.

Notes:

  • Metal Loss: The total shortening of the workpiece during the welding process.
  • Total Time: The sum of heating time plus welding time.

The following table gives parameters used for inertia welding several common dissimilar material combinations.

Note for Axial Force: A force of 22 KN (5000 lbf) is applied during the heating stage of the welding; the force near the end of the weld is subsequently increased to 67 KN (15000 LBF).

Brushed aluminum plate: The manufacturing process of repeatedly scraping the aluminum plate out of the line with sandpaper. The main process of the process is divided into three parts: deesterification, sand mill, and water washing. In the aluminum sheet drawing process, the special film technology after anodizing can make a film layer containing the metal component on the surface of the aluminum sheet, and clearly show every fine wire mark, so that the metal matte shines with fine hair. Silky sheen. Alumina plate: The aluminum plate is formed by placing the aluminum plate in the corresponding electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid, etc.) as an anode, and performing electrolysis under specific conditions and applied current. The aluminum plate of the anode is oxidized, and a thin layer of aluminum oxide is formed on the surface, the thickness of which is 5~20 microns, and the hard anodized film can reach 60~200 microns.

PS aluminum plate (advertisement aluminum plate, also known as printed zinc plate, newspaper plate): that is, an aluminum plate with a printed pattern on the back and a thickness of 025 or 03.

Mirror aluminum plate: refers to the aluminum plate that is processed by rolling, grinding and other methods to make the surface of the plate show a mirror effect. Embossed aluminum plate can also be called aluminum embossed plate: it is an aluminum product that forms various patterns on the surface after calendering on the basis of aluminum plate. It is widely used, mainly used in packaging, construction, curtain wall and so on.
