What is DIN 1.4021 stainless steel? 


 DIN 1.4021 steel should belong to stainless steel from the classification, more accurate classification should be attributed to martensitic stainless iron, mainly used for mechanical processing, better than normal stainless steel cost performance, so in the case of low corrosion resistance requirements, has been more widely used.  DIN 1.4021 has better mechanical properties and machinability after quenching treatment, and its microstructure is Martensite shape.


2Cr13 (new number: 20Cr13) Standard: GB/T 1220-2007

Characteristics and application: high hardness and good corrosion resistance under quenching state. Used as turbine blades.  DIN 1.4021 density 7.75g/cm3  DIN 1.4021 quenching hardness: generally, the quenching temperature of  DIN 1.4021 is 980 ~ 1050℃, the hardness of oil quenching at 980℃ is significantly lower than that at 1050℃, the hardness of oil quenching at 980℃ is 45 ~ 50HRC, and the hardness of oil quenching at 1050℃ is 2HRC higher. However, the microstructure obtained after quenching at 1050℃ is coarser and more brittle. It is recommended to use 1000℃ heating quenching can get better microstructure and hardness. 2Cr13 Martensitic stainless steel, preheated for welding. And Q235 austenitic stainless steel welding rod without preheating, such as A302.A307 can be. Weld dilution rate is controlled during welding, welding without swing, and small current is used.
2Cr13 welding material can be selected:
1. Atmospheric corrosion resistance G202,G207, need to preheat 150-300 degrees, after welding 700-730 degrees tempering;
2. Resistance to organic acid and heat resistance: G211, need to preheat 150-300 degrees;
3. Good plasticity: A102 A107, A202, A207, A302, A307, repair welding preheating, thick big preheating

S: sulfur 0.030 or less

Heat treatment specification and metallographic structure
Heat treatment
1) Annealing, slow cooling at 800 ~ 900℃ or fast cooling at about 750℃;
2) quenching, oil cooling at 920 ~ 980℃;
3) Tempering,600 ~ 750℃ fast cooling.
Metallographic structure: The structure is characterized by Martensite type.

Delivery status:
Generally, the goods are delivered in the condition of heat treatment, and the type of heat treatment is indicated in the contract. If it is not indicated, the goods will be delivered without heat treatment.

Main uses:
1, mechanical structure parts, engine exhaust pipe, boiler combustion chamber, burner.
2, building exterior decoration materials, car parts, cold and hot water supply equipment.
3, used in grain boundary corrosion resistance of chemical, coal, oil industry outdoor open-air machine, building materials heat-resistant parts and parts with difficulty in heat treatment.
Welding materials:
1, atmospheric corrosion resistance G202, G207, need to preheat 150-300 degrees, after welding 700-730 degrees tempering;
2, organic acid resistance and heat resistance G211, need to preheat 150-300 degrees;
3, good plasticity: A102, A302, A307, repair welding preheating, thick parts preheating.
