Heat treatment specification
1) Homogenizing annealing: heating 480 ~ 495℃; Keep warm for 12-14h; Furnace cooling.
2) Complete annealing: heating 390 ~ 430℃; Holding time 30-120min; The furnace is cooled to 300℃ and air-cooled.
3) Rapid annealing: heating 350 ~ 370℃; The holding time is 30 ~ 120min. Air cooling.
4) Quenching and aging: quenching 495 ~ 505℃, water cooling; Artificial aging 185 ~ 195℃,6 ~ 12h, air cooling; Natural aging: 96h at room temperature.
Density
The density of the two is quite different. The density of 6061 can only reach 2.7, while the density of 2A12 can reach around 2.78-2.79 due to the high content of copper alloy. You can get the aluminium sheet density through the following formula:

Application
6061 aluminum alloy belongs to 6xxx alloy, having higher silicon content. 2A12 aluminum belong to 2xxx alloy, a kind of Al-Cu-Mg alloy.
