100Cr6 bearing steel has good comprehensive performance, chemical composition and mechanical properties equivalent to the NATIONAL standard GCR15-GB /T18254. After quenching and tempering, it has high hardness and uniformity, good wear resistance and high contact fatigue strength. The steel has good thermal workability and good machinability after spheroidizing annealing.

100Cr6 bearing steel, good toughness, good tempering stability, small deformation during heat treatment. The carbide distribution in the steel is uniform, it is not easy to precipitate the carbide network, and it is easy to normalize the elimination of network and rough carbide structure by normalizing. However, the compressive strength and wear resistance are insufficient, and the machinability is poor. When the residual carbon content of the steel is 0.6-0.7%, the superheat sensitivity of the surface layer increases due to the reduction of the carbide. After normal heating and quenching, the surface hardness can still reach 60-62hrC, but its bending strength decreases by 40%-50%. The grain size of the surface layer reaches grade 7 and the core reaches grade 10.

The steel has good forging performance and needs to be heated in neutral atmosphere or protective atmosphere furnace because it is easy to decarburize. The forging heat quenching and tempering treatment can obtain fine tempered sortenite structure, simplify the process, save time and electricity, not only good cutting performance, but also ideal waste heat treatment structure.
The softening temperature of the steel is 320℃, hardenability is better than that of the chromium steel, and oil quenching hardenability depth is 40-50mm. The zero heat preservation quenching and toughening process of the steel can eliminate the early failure caused by conventional quenching heating and oxidation decarburization, and uneven austenitic repair can refine martensite, and the annealed crystalline martensite or fine needle-like martensite can be obtained after quenching. This kind of structure has good strength and toughness.
