P265GH SPECIFICATION
EN10028-2 covers alloy and no-alloy steels for pressure vessels with elevated temperature properties. P265GH is useful at moderate temperatures for pressure purposes. At the standard thickness it has a minimum yield strength of 265 MPa. It is normalised by heating through the thickness of the plate to a temperature between 890 to 950°C without holding

P265GH Physical Properties
It has some heat resistance but for higher temperatures and applications where corrosion is more of a factor then chrome moly steels are recommended. P265GH is specified in EN 10028-2:2009 which replaces the old BS 1501 and DIN17155 standards. It is a steel for use as boiler plate with a minimum yield strength of 265 MPa. P265 is normally delivered in the normalized condition
P265GH AND PRESSURE EQUIPMENT DIRECTIVE PED 97/23/EC
If the P265GH plate has a mill certificate to EN10204 it complies with the requirement of PED 97/23/EC annex 1 as Annex ZA of EN10028-2 explicitly states that “compliance with the clauses of this standard given in Table ZA.1 confers, within the limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the corresponding Essential Requirements of that Directive and associated EFTA regulations”. And that makes life nice and simple.
P265GH PROCESSING
We can process P265GH plates to your requirements with both flame and laser cutting. With our stock of thick plates we are experienced in preheating and profiling very heavy plates and have 150m of cutting tables enabling us to do large jobs as well as small. P265GH plates can be cut into smaller plates to meet shopping or production requirements or into particular shapes (profiles) to meet you exact engineering requirements.
P265GH EQUIVALENTS
There are a fair number of equivalents to P265GH with the most common being the ASTM/ASME A516 Gr 60 plates which it is often dual certified too. Generally the ASTM grade is more popular in the US and Asia with P265GH being more popular in Europe.
